As a representation of the economy youre quite right, this cartoon is simplistic. As a representation of the link between taxes and unemployment, but, the cartoon was pithy and accurate. In additional words, at conveys a valid opinion to the layman taxpayer.
Rather than address this point, you comment attacks a straw man. The video was by no means meant to clarify economics per se and criticizing it on that basis is dishonest.

So simple yet revealing. Ron Paul supporters are really clever. Maybe it is because anyone who likes liberty and freedom of choice can be a Ron Paul supporter. You can be a democrat, republican, democratic, independent, or even an anarchist. A huge tent with lots of thoughts waiting to be expressed. But, if you believe in fractional reserve banking being a excellent thing you have got to be outside your mind.

That’s a bit over-simplified and not entirely right.
One of the major moves that the Union made that sealed the deal was the stoppage of Prisoner Exchange. From then on, it became a War of Attrition. The Northern factories would continue to churn out the weapons in mass while all the Southern boys were captured and held until the end of the War.
Running out of soldiers and guns… not much you can do to stop the loss. Oh, and let’s not forget the manpower advantage of the North’s blacks.
